(1844-1864) Company K, 121st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, was a grandson of Nathaniel and Phoebe Rosecrans Roloson.  He entered the service on August 20, 1862.  He was taken prisoner at Chickamauga on September 20, 1863.  He died at the age of twenty on August 14, 1864 in Andersonville, Georgia prison. Burna died in Defense of the Union and is on the Roll of Honor of Ohio Soldiers. He is buried in Berkshire Cemetery.

Norton, Captain Orloff (__-1864) Company I, 15th Regiment, Kansas Cavalry.  Norton was a Captain of the 15th Kansas Cavalry and was killed by guerillas at Cane Hill, Arkansas. November 12, 1864. The town and county of Norton, Kansas was named in his honor.  Norton was born in 1837 and was on the 1850 census as living in Berkshire. Some of his family is buried in Berkshire Cemetery and Norton was brought back and buried in Berkshire Cemetery.

  Roloson, Private Simon  (about 1838-1863) Company I, 4th Regiment, OVI, served at Harpers Ferry, Rich Mountain, Romney, Virginia, and other battles.  At age 21, Simon died on July 2, 1863 in the Battle of Gettysburg along with fellow Delaware Countian, Private Willie Brefogle, where their unit fought along Cemetery  Ridge.  Simon and Lemuel Roloson were sons of Joseph and Margaret Roloson.  Simon is buried in Berkshire Cemetery.     Serving in Simon’s regiment were Private Thomas E. Stark (1838-1922) and Corporal Addison Roloson who are also buried in Berkshire Cemetery. Simon’s relative, Private Wesley Roloson, served in the same unit but is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, Ohio

Stark, Private Henry C.  (1840- 1863) Ohio, Company I, 4th Regiment, OVI. was wounded in an ankle during the Battle of Gettysburg on July 2, 1863.  He died July 11 in a hospital and is buried in Gettysburg National Cemetery in the Ohio Section in grave designation B-17.   He was the second son of James R. (Rosecrans) and Elizabeth (Van Sickle) Stark of Kingston Township, Delaware County, Ohio.

 

  Stark, Selah James, (Abt 1844), Private, Company I, 32nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry.  Killed in action at the Battle of McDowell in Virginia (now West Virginia) May 8, 1862 at the age of 19.  He is buried in the old Grafton National Cemetery in Grafton, Virginia.   He was third son of James R. (Rosecrans) and Elizabeth (Van Sickle) Stark of Kingston Township, Delaware County, Ohio.
