General W. S. Rosecrans' home in Gardena, California

According to a book, Images of America, Gardena, published by the Gardena Heritage Committee in 2006, the Rosecrans Pioneer Homestead was built by General William S. Rosecrans.  It shows a photo of the home in bad repair at the southeast corner of Vermont and Rosecrans Avenues and noted the building was torn down in 1950.

The VFW Post 3261 in Gardena was named in Rosecrans honor.
