Headquarters Soldiers Meet New Recruit

During the Delaware County District Library's Lincoln Event, Payton chatted with the members of the General Rosecrans' Department of the Ohio Headquarters Unit making friends with the men of the unit.  Later when the Headquarters Unit went to Port Columbus to welcome the
Honor Soldiers home from their trip to Washington, D.C., Payton joined them.

Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Payton is taking his love of Civil War history  seriously.  In 2007 he chose to dress in period costume and portray on of the Chamberlain brothers from Maine, photo at the right.

April 22nd, 2010, Payton attended the regular meeting of the Headquarters Unit in the Myers Inn Museum.
