Tom has been negotiating with Eastland Crane to move the rock to the Village Square. A quote has been received to move thee rock from Tom’s to the Village Square for less than $5,000. If approved, they will move the rock on Wednesday, March 28th. Eastland has requested a waiver from the HQ for any property damage. Rick will draft a letter. A motion was made by Bill, seconded by Monte to accept Eastland Crane’s proposal for up to $5,000 to place the rock. Motion carried. Business: The following new business items were discussed: Affiliation with The Army of the Ohio: Bill still talking to the The Army of the Ohio commander, Bob Minton. There is concern as to how we would fit. He suggested getting together with several of us at upcoming events: Shiloh Re-enactment; Mansfield Civil War Show; and Scio Spring Drill. Bill and Rick will try to follow-up with Bob. BWAHS: Janet, president of the BWAHS addressed the group with her concerns regarding the statue. Appears the Board does not feel comfortable with the HQ progress with the Statue Fund. The BWAHS feels that they have been out of the loop with regards to what is taking place. It is concerned about its liability for anything that the HQ has done on the Village Square (concrete work, bricks and the potential for the rock) should the necessary funds not be collected and the project completed by October 20, 2013. Asked that progress stop while the BWAHS gets a handle on things. Would like to meet with the Village to discuss. HQ’s reaction - SEEM A LITTLE LATE TO BRING UP AND STOP THE PRESSES. WITH SEVERAL OF THE HQ’S MEMBER HAVING BEEN ON THE BOARD OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS (CHUCK, JOE, LINDA, POLLY) IT WOULD SEEM THE BOARD SHOULD BE UP TO SPEED ON WHAT THE HQS AND THE MEMORIAL FUND ARE DOING. NOTED THAT NO CONCERNS WERE EXPRESSED BY THE VILLAGE AND BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT AT THE MEETINGS WITH THE VILLAGE. HQs agreed to stop and work with the BWAHS and the Village to resolve, in order to get things moving again.
