Several guests were in attendance. Hannah Griffith gave a public presentation and brief history of the “Women in the War”. She did a very good job. Chairman’s Report: Rick informed everyone that Henry Shaw had recently had eye surgery and would be out of commission until September 13th. Rick discussed some ideas for the 2011 season. Let’s accumulate events and discuss them in a planning meeting in January 2011. Rick indicated that we have several new members to the HQ – Bob Daniels and Ken & and Bev Herb. Rick again reminded everyone that we need to get applications, dues and “Emergency Medical Forms” in as soon as possible. Vice-Chairman’s Report: Tom discussed the progress on the statute. He and Steve had met with the sculptor in Zanesville Tom also discussed the HQ involvement in assisting Lancaster with their “Save the Cannon” dinner. Several of our HQ’s staff would be attending the dinner on October 23rd. Secretary’s Report: Bill discussed and passed around the minutes of the August meeting. Secretary’s report approved and accepted later in the meeting. Treasurer’s Report: Henry Shaw was on sick leave from the HQ. Finance/budget Committee. (Members Bill, Henry, Tom and Monte.) No meeting as of yet. Ladies Aid Society: Rosecrans’ HQ dinner theater dates have been set (Oct 9 – Medicine Man, Nov 13, and Dec 13). Val and Liz discussed the “Sanitary Fair” to be held during the May Re-enactment. Activities: The following activities were discussed: Past campaign activities: · August 28 & 29, 2010, Three Rivers, Gahanna – well attended · September 12, 2010, All-Horse Parade – 2 riders leading the parade · September 29, Max & Erma’s – very well attended Up-coming campaign activities: · October 2-3, Farmers Market & Heritage Day · October 9, Dinner Theater · November 13, Dinner Theater · December 4, Christmas on the Square · December 11, Dinner Theater · May 20-22, 2011, Sunbury Re-enactment Rosecrans Memorial: Rock has been estimated at $50,000 to $54,000. Sculptor’s price has come down to possibly $75,000. Steve Ball is trying to setup meeting with the State people. Jerry Jodrey is working with a designer for the corner, their group plans to pay for the cost of design and the foundation for the statute. Unit Impressions: Steve Cook indicated that he will be looking towards a journalist. Rob will be a civilian. Demos and Public Presentations: The following is the schedule of upcoming Living History Presentations: · October Polly Horn - General William S.
