San Jose Mining Company in Egan Canyon, Nevada

For $250,000 investment, William S. Rosecrans and his partner Bart O'Connor formed the San Jose Mining Company in 1872 to revitalize mining in Egan Canyon, Nevada. They built a 20 stamp mill run completely by water power. The company closed in 1883 after producing $400,000.
